The Mandarin Oriental & Molton House
There are certain perks of the job that not only have to be shared but are hard to turn down. One of the most special of these is the Dinner. We were treated by the Groups Executive and Groups Manger Kristin and Nadja ,respectively, to a tour of the Mandarin Hotel and a most sumptuos dinner in the Park Restaurant. Having eaten at the Michelin Star Foilage it was nice to try the culinary delights of this restaurant. I have nt been to Mandarin for a couple of years since when we used to organise the Conde Nast Xmas ( for 4 years in a row I may add) Party in the beautiful Ballroom. I almost forgot how sumptuous and easy on the eyes the bedrooms are as well. Great and unique rooms for conferences from 20-250. The Bar & Spa are to die for! As it was the night of the BRITS and I was NFI, the Mrs took me to the new Members Club Molton House near Bond Street for a few cocktails. Great to bump into some old Friends. Thanks for the drinks Andreas ( Mixologist Extrodinaire) , Davina & Irina..... see you soon x
Cool Venue Awards At Il Bottaccio
Tuesday night I was slightly hesitant in taking on an invitation to "The Cool Venues" Awards at Il Bottaccio. Could anything that had to call itself cool really be cool? Well I had to investigate further. My Wife & Colleagues were not convinced so I had to recruit a couple of trusted Friends to tag along with me. I must say I was very impressed with the Venue; save the lack of air due to the windows not being allowed to be opened next to Bucks House. This problem did nt last long though. Lots of Event Organisers were invited; most of them swearing things had never better..... don t think they realise that although the music is still playing, like the titanic, the ship is shrinking and sinking. Well there are only so many rafts and you ve got to know where they re located! Industry joke me thinks! But more grease to your elbow Wesley Mendy, Publisher & Editor of Prestige Events Guide Magazine who hosted the Awards. Loving your work! Great to see our Friends at St Mary's Axe won the venue architecture award. Still good to see people in the industry still smiling though..... Thanks Guys!
