Remember Those We Love
Strange time it is ....last day of the year! Janus time ! Although you look forward to the forthcoming year and what it may bring: you can t help but reflect on the years gone by and though you have lost. I remember you all - Mum, Mama, Uncle Tambere, Tim & Richard Coker-Enahoro amongst the many. We still love you ..... R.I.P!
Somerset House Ice Rink With Friends
A Client and now good Friend Luc T of the Ball Of Balls Fame booked us the Somerset House Tiffany Sponsored Ice Rink tickets. He had to book 1 month in advanced. It was packed and great fun. Luckily Stef and I are great skaters so no falling but lots of silliness. I forgot how much fun skating could be. Definately need to buy some skates again....Ohhhhh to remember those glory days when I was in the Queensway Ice Hockey team. To be young again :-)
Xmas Time
Strange but enjoyable Xmas ..... Got what I wanted and gave to those that I cared most for! I still think Xmas is for Women & Kids but what joy it brings so we love it! My Niece, good Friend Rob & his little beau Hannah and myself went to the German Xmas Fayre in Hyde Park on possible the coldest day of the year 3rd of dec. Great fun for Kids and fleecing for Parents! Some of the rides were great though and mmmm....the waffles. It s official Xmas is for Kids ! Checkout this movie of Dylan & Hannah on a mad german techno merry-go-round .....

Sleeping Beauty At The Coliseum
2 weeks ago I promised my Wife and my Niece that I would take them to a Ballet or Opera. As I had never been to the Ballet - which is the best ballet to pop one's cherry on? SLEEPING BEAUTY. What elegance? What finesse? What strength? What stamina?English National Ballet in Kenneth MacMillan's 'Sleeping Beauty' and it's everything you could wish a classical ballet to be: a beautiful production with lavish sets and costumes, full orchestra, a stage-full of pristine dancers, heart-stopping moments (like the precarious balances in the Rose Adagio) and underneath all those trimmings, some sterling choreography.
Tchaikovsky’s glorious music and MacMillan’s classical choreography reawaken the magic of the world’s favourite fairy tale in an enchanted world of castles and curses, forests and fairies. At Princess Aurora’s christening, fairies bestowed her with gifts of beauty, temperament, purity, joy, wit and generosity. The wicked Fairy Carabosse put a curse on Aurora; to prick her finger and die on her 16th birthday.
The beautiful and kind Lilac Fairy cast a spell to counter the curse so that instead of dying Aurora fell asleep for a hundred years. Only the touch of true love’s kiss could awaken her and undo the evil spell…..... Takanhashi as Sleeping Beauty was divine. Will definately go again!
Dinner at Buka Nigerian Restau & Bungalow 8
After a night like Thursday I needed to re-balance my body's nourishment. So with my Russian (Musician) , Greek ( Lawyer, don't mention the riots), South African (Luxury Travel Agent) & Essex (Supermodel) Friends, we decided to sample the culinary delights of Nigerian delicacies. We meet up once a month to catch up on our loves, lives and swap buiness ideas and strategies.Pounded yam, efo ero, jollof rice, tilapia fish pepper soups and assorted meats. Mmmmm....... the pepper wqas sooooooo wholesome washed down with Star beer. I know there are better Nigerian restaurants in London but I still love the music and atmosphere of Buka,Faze 2 in Kilburn.
Decided on a full stomach to meet the Mrs and cousins at Bungalow 8 for a shakedown of all that fine food! Who did we bump into? The one & onlyPearl Van Den Ende and here jovial Friends. Great night mes Amis x

Amba Restaurant At The May Fair Hotel
Monday night ended up in being a very pleasant surprise. My wife and I were kindly invited by the May Fair Hotel's top salesman Vivek T to sample the dishes from their unpretentious quality British & Continental food menu that consisted of premium seasonal ingredients. I had foie gras and smoked duck terraine with apple muscat jelly and toasted sour doughh bread for starters and the smoked cornish turbot with cockle and mussel broth, salsify and saffron poatato fonatnt for my main.... this was as delicious as it sounds as it melted so delicately in my mouth. The Mrs had Seared Scottish diver scallops with mustard mash and Cumbrian air-dried ham for starters and 16oz Grilled Dover Sole with parsley new potatoes, lemon and butternut sauce. We decided to push the boat out and share a banofie pie :-)
What a great culinary experience we had! Andrea our waiter was a most attentive. The Gavi de Gavi was chilled at to the right temperature and complimented our meal delightfully. Thank you Vivek and hope to see you over the Xmas period. Please do comment.....

Sofia Hayat's Birthday Party At The Wellington Club
Friday after the conference I had to go and blow off some steam and summise the day with my good Friend Kunle O whom accompanied me to the Forum. Luckily I still had that open invitation from No 5 Cavendish Square for a dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine thrown in. Seemed like a good time to cash in the chips! Thanks to K I was beginning to understand how the Nigerian market worked and a complimentary meal with wine goes a long way to getting more pertinent info. Lovely meal, thank you Mark & No 5 !
Saturday was a day of Xmas decorations.Picked up my niece Dylan and we went back home to help my beau put up the Xmas lights, Swedish Xmas dolls and prepare for the tree to come the following week. 3x Wii games later and a late lunch saw us polish off the 1/2 bottle of wine still there from our mid-week celebration of me passing my driving test. For the record Dylan drank OJ!
Afternoon swiftly became evening and we prepared for a sumptuous dinner the the Wellington Club compliments of our dear friend Sofia Hayat WWW.SOFIAHAYAT.ORG for her Birthday celebrations. Great food (I had the beef wellington...mmm), divine wine and a fabulous group of her Friends made for an awesome night. A few boogies and magnums later we left early at about 2am. Shall definately be seeing some of them again. Thanks Sofia xxx..........pls leave a comment.
Forum For Lagosians & Nigerians In Diaspora
Friday was quite a surreal day. Felt like I was back in Lagos. I woke up at 5.30am,excited what the day was to bring. Showered, shaved and made my way to Victoria Park Plaza Hotel for 9.15am to register for this Forum hosted by the Lagos local government. Thanks to the UK Trade & Investment I received an invite to this unique event. They were all there , almost on time : Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, Lagos State's inspirational Governor, Mr Opeyemi Bamidele, Commisisioner for Information & Strategy & Mr James Akintola, Secretary of the BFR Forum UK. All accessible and welcoming ..... we're getting closer to the dream now. Thank you God for linking me up so smoothly! We could have organised the Event better ourselves but still felt like I was in a dream shaking hands with the young Governor today who may be the President tomorrow. Change in now happening in Lagos and I shall be involved!!!!Do leave a comment.....thx
