From Kiev With Love

Last week as we were preparing for a Client Event on Thursday I got a call from my man in Kiev Alan P. It was to do with a presentation we had put together in January to a Ukrainian Oligach call Yuri on the subject of Events & Concierge in Kiev. They had had a luncheon and after 3 or 4 bottles of Vodka Yuri demanded to meet me. So I got the "CALL"...."Baba, we 're on- Yuri wants to meet you. Can we book you a flight for tomorrow am from Gatwick to Kiev to discuss our plans, face to face?" Mmmmm..... a Anglo-Ukrainian-Russian Axis in entertainment. Took me a New York minute to respond." "Pay my expenses and I 'm there, I reponded." One thing I ve learnt through the years is that if people are serious they'll put their money where their mouths are and you ve got to be ready to move. Friday am and I 'm on my way to the airport in a suit with brochures and a brain teeming with great designs and plans. Wow was I treated royally, VIP escort off the plan to terminal C; car waiting and zipped off to a superfly apartment hosted by my man Alan P. 14 Bars & Nightclubs, 4 restaurants, 3 churches,2 cafes and lots of loud music made up my 2 day tour of Kiev. The Danish/Ukrainian/Rusiian/English & Nigerian Magnificent 7 was a charmed group of extraordinary gentlemen I got to hang with. 72 hours later we have our plan to set up EMC3 Entertainment 1st in Ukrain then Russia. Always need a USP for such monster moves and we now have it!!!! 14 hours of sleep was needed on my return. This is the year of the Privateer!!! Bring it on!!! To top it all on the way back I was on the Flight with the Under 21 Ukrainian Football team - Come on England!!

Q Tip Concert At The Roundhouse 14.3.09

I must commend the £2 million facelift that has transformed the Roundhouse theatre into the awesome entertainment space it is now. My beau kindly bought my cousin & his girlfrind ( For his Birthday) and I tickets to see the devout Muslim Q Tip presented by Gilles Peterson in concert. 14 years he's been out of London. Jonathan Davis (born April 10, 1970), better known by his stage name Q-Tip, is an American hip hop artist, singer, and occasional actor from Queens, New York City, perhaps best known as part of the critically acclaimed group A Tribe Called Quest. There's no song like " After it all it was you" - Still sends tingles down my back. The atmosphere was electric and Q Tip's voice is God sent +

About Red Nose Day - 13.3.09

Well after the brainwave that is "Red Nose Day" I decided as an African that I too must play a part in giving to the great cause. Linking Biggie Smalls to this auspicious day gave us another chnace for nusic to drive a different kind of Guest to our Friday the 13th Party. 150 came through the door at Vendome and were treated to Champagne Belinis & Seabreezes. Although we had 180 of each they were depleted in a New York minute. Seems to always be the case with free drinks non? I just happy we raised £220 to the Red Nose cause....small you may say but selling noses at £2 eack was nt an easy task. I know I did it! As one prudent Egyptian financier once said,"Every penny counts". Great music from DJ Clown Prince and his merry crew. Lots more of these "Be inspired....Music nights to come". Friends and Clients made this a rockus night. I was nt too sure about the Clubs bouncers attitude though - always taints an evening if you have heavy handed staff :-(

Red Nose Day In Memory Of The Notorious B.I.G - PARTY TONIGHT 13.3.9

Red Nose Day is a day like no other! Britain gets involved in fundraising activities at schools, offices & homes across the land, mix it with the nation’s favourite celebrities getting up to all kinds of mischief, sprinkle a new Red Nose (or three!) across the entire UK and add a cracking night of comedy on BBC One to make Red Nose Day the phenomenon it is. All this funny business unites the nation in trying to make a difference to the lives of thousands of people – and the best thing is - it works!

In loving memory of Christopher George Latore Wallace's life (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997), aka Biggie Smalls, come and join us from 8pm to hear Superstar DJ Leke spin legendary tunes from and inspired by B.I.G. & Co and complimentary cocktails & canapés inspired by Red Nose Day.

FREE ENTRY between 8pm- 10pm then the nightclub kicks in..

You will be able to make a contribution to Red Nose Day at the party.

Justinius The Great's 40th Birthday Party

Whilst the boys were throwing a great Party for in EA in Londinium I took flight to sunny Ruthin,Wales. We stayed in the 13th Century Ruthin Castle - so much history in the UK. The occassion was my good Friend Justin and his Mrs Lil's 40th Birthday Party. They were born 2 days apart.....how mad is that? Great company, sumptuous food and lovely Family. Black tie do with all the trimmings. Also took a 3 hour hike onto the hills with Bobby to survey the land. Ahhh what a thrill! Legs are still aching. The Welsh are such nice people as well. Even had time to buy some prime beef from the local butcher which the Mrs & I had for dinner on Sunday....LUSH!
Boone chance with the move to Switzerland and see you Friday Bro! Thanks for an awesome time ......... +

Because of the downturn in the last few months some Companies were forced to cancel their Xmas Parties. But some others just postponed and shrunk down their celebrations. The beloved EA Games are one of our Clients that still felt that their staff that where still in chair deserved some show of gratitude for their work. Alistair, Daniel & Jessica organised an awesome and well received Dinner Celebration at D&D's Quaglino's. Nice one Guys.....Clients were v. happy as well. Loving your work!!

Members Night At Molton House & Polo Packages

Wednesdays are always deemed as a sleepy Thursday in the Industry. This week was no different as we were invited to the colourful Members Club that is Molton House near Bond Street! Great cocktails and lovely to bump into a few old friends especially my Man James from Funky Buddha. You still have your youthful looks from the Atlantic Bar & Grill days 15 years back amigo. Happy Birthday To You. Davina & the gang treated us royally at Molton House.... Great venue for 130 Guest party xxx

On the flipside it ain't easy trying to market Hospitality packages ( eg Polo) to our friends in the City. Minimal budget and droves of agency frantically hitting the same clients. Lucky our quality, network and cost effeciency put us a cut above the rest!!!! Give us a try if you don't believe me ;-)

Shanghai Blues With Clients & Dinner with Scott Maslen

During these austere times it's all about putting your marketing in full throttle. On that proviso we took some lovely Clients on Tuesday night to the stylish and sumptuous restaurant Shanghai Blues http://www.shanghaiblues.co.uk/ in Holborn. I still think the food and cocktails here are better than even Hakasan. Thanks to GM Andrew and the professional staff the Clients will be coming back with Business. Let get it on! It was nt a long meet as it was only a school night and I had to rush off for dinner with my good Friend Scott Maslen ( Of Eastenders Fame) at his place..... House is coming along just fine Buddy!!! Thanks for dinner and great to see the Family. More grease to your elbow x
